Why this site exists
I’m a software developer by day and a woodworker in my spare time. Sooner or later every project comes down to arithmetic: miter angles for a segmented bowl, ring sizes for a stacked one, stile and rail lengths for a set of cabinet doors, how many sheets of plywood a cut list really takes. I kept working it out on scrap paper, so I started writing small calculators for the projects I was making.
They were built for my own shop first, but the math is the same in anyone’s, so they’re here for anyone who finds them helpful. They’re free, with no accounts and no ads.
Meet Poppy

Poppy is my real shop dog, and the site is named after her.
She’s a beagle, which means she’s a good listener, a good sniffer, and a champion-level eater. She’s also a good inspector: if she’s not happy with the way a project is going, she’ll let me know.
How the calculators work
Everything runs in your browser. Projects you save stay on your device, share links carry a whole design in the link itself, and once you’ve visited, the calculators work without a connection and can be installed like an app. The privacy notes have the details.
The calculators are planning aids. They do the arithmetic, but they can’t see your stock or your setup, so check the numbers before you cut (see the disclaimer).
